About The Cast

Donavan Patton plays the fun loving “Bot” on Nickelodeon’s new, interactive, animated preschool series, Team Umizoomi.

Patton is best known for portraying the character “Joe,” the host of Blue’s Clues, Nickelodeon’s groundbreaking preschool series for which he garnered an Emmy Award nomination in 2005 for Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series.  An experienced theatre actor, Patton recently completed a recurring role on ABC’s One Life To Live, and starred in the Off-Broadway play, American Rapture, at the Samuel Beckett Theater. Patton’s other productions include the Hartford Stage production of the play, Our Town, co-starring Hal Holbrook; the one-act play, Thujone for The Drama League; the Lincoln Center/Hanger Theatre production of Romeo and Juliet and the Vineyard Theatre production, True History and Real Adventures, directed by Tony-Award winning director Michael Mayer.  He also starred in the critically acclaimed Fringe Festival production Barstool Words.

Patton is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and of the Neighborhood Playhouse, where he honed his skills in acting, movement, voice and speech. 
The son of an Air Force Lieutenant, Patton was born on a military base in Guam and spent his early years in Germany and in various locations in the United States.  He enjoys skiing, soccer, drawing, singing and dancing.  He currently resides in New York City with his wife. 

SOPHIA FOX – “Milli”
11-year-old Sophia Fox plays the spunky, imaginative leader “Milli” on Nickelodeon’s new, interactive, animated preschool series, Team Umizoomi.

Fox made her television debut on Law & Order: SVU and voiced the role of “Butterfly” in Team Umizoomi’s pilot episode before winning the lead role in the series.  Her film credits include Cycle Unknown, a Columbia University short film directed by Jessica Daniels.  She is a member of the Brooklyn Youth Chorus and has a yellow belt in karate.  Fox is bilingual in English and Japanese, and she also plays the piano and viola.  Among other interests, she loves to play soccer, has several academic awards in Art and Science and supports The Thorn Tree Project in Kenya, Africa. 

Fox is a native New Yorker and lives in Brooklyn with her mom, dad, Pookie the cat, Floyd the dog and four fish.

11-year-old Ethan Kempner plays the energetic “Geo” on Nickelodeon’s new, interactive, animated preschool series, Team Umizoomi.

Kempner began his career at the age of seven, appearing in numerous commercials. When not working, Kempner enjoys karate (he’s a black belt!), practicing the drums and alto sax, and playing baseball and basketball.  He is an excellent student and wants to be an actor and teacher when he grows up. 

Kempner currently resides in Monmouth County, New Jersey with his mother, father, brother and sister.
